Frogs

Frogs belong to a group of animals called amphibians. All Australian amphibians are frogs. There are about 4000 frog species worldwide and Australia has 208 frog species; many of these are endemic - that is, they are found nowhere else in the world. Frogs play a key role in many food webs, both as predators and as prey.

Hello, @donnanchris !

The frog calling in your audio is the Tusked Frog (Adelotus brevis). Yep, tusked! The species has 'tusks' on their lower jaw, and males use them to battle over breeding sites!

A native frog species, and the only species of it's genus!

Also sounds like a Uperoleia or Pseudophryne at the start, quiet little chirp before the Litoria gracilenta

Could be another Tusked Frog (Adelotus brevis)? Happy for other suggestions, I could be wrong.
