Hi Nette, it could be a Cabbage gum but I'm guessing based on the photos. If you can collect any fruit or buds underneath the tree, they are key for identifying eucalypts
Yeah, often it's like that. Eucalypts, Corymbia and Angophora (Gums) can be quite difficult to identify without fruit, buds and leaves. If you don't find any it would be good opportunistically collect fruit/buds if you see them in the future as they provide valuable clues!
