Hi @Watermelontree, the suggestion of Spotted Dove was made by an AI moderator which is still very much in its trial stages (especially when it comes to birds). It does not endanger the credibility of the site in any way, shape or form, as the sighting can only be confirmed by moderators like myself. As for the difficulty you have encountered adding a new species, you should always be able to suggest species that are not already in the database, which will then be approved and added by either a moderator, or one of the admins.

Thank you Aaron.

I have tried to find support@naturemapr.org but typing this in only leads to the home page of Naturemapr, where there is no drop down menu for support. Perhaps there is another way to discuss this. If there is a number I can ring please let me know, or message me on 0448290344.

Regards
Rodney

Hi @Watermelontree we are very sorry about your annoying experience. Very keen to give you a hand if you have a moment, please reach out to us at support@naturemapr.org and we'll do our very best to give you a hand. It's possible that the species was recently cleaned up, but we can definitely see it in the taxonomy and you should be able to as well. If you can't, then that's an issue that we would like to help you resolve.

It was added into database previously so I'm not sure why it wasn't available - something to investigate. Were you still interested in speaking to someone about Naturemapr? I'm happy to help you get started.

Great! Now it is back to unidentified again since the erroneous spotted dove ID has been given equal credibility. Sorry to be crabby, but gee whiz!
