Hi Christine. The Umbagong Landcare Group has asked TCCS for assistance with the ivy infestations over several years. At time we have had removal sessions ourselves but as you see it is a task that's now beyond volunteers' capabilities. Ivy is one of the species given away to those with new blocks in the seventies. Bees are pollinators of ivy flowers birds eat the berries and disperse the seeds into other gardens and reserves. Ivy and periwinkle form ground-cover monocultures that wreck biodiversity.
