Common in the Clarence Valley, this tall plant (photo 2), has a very strong & deep tap root and is reputed amongst gardeners for mining nutrients that have leached deep into the soil. The stem (photo 3), too is strong. Tall and slightly bushy (photo 2), it has maize coloured flowers (photos 1 & 4) and seed pods (photos 1 & 3), that remind me of hollyhocks.
