A ‘mushroom’, whose cap starts as a brilliant red all over, to merge into a pale pink on the outer edge as it opens out (photo 1, 2 & 5). It is growing in a white sand after days of rain. The gills tend to be more white (photo 3) with the stem appearing to have a wash of pink over it (photo 4). Photo 5 also provides context.
