User's notes

A large & darkly multicoloured cicada. Wing veins appear to be dark brown with no distinguishing markings. The body is an overall dark brown with the top rear centre of the head, the pronotum and a patch on the rear upper torso having a distinct green tinge (photos 1 &, especially, 2). The greeny brown patch on the head narrows to a yellow mark towards the rear of the head, either side of which appear slightly lighter green small patches. The eyes are a tan-brown. The abdomen (upper side) has alternating bands of black and a dark mulberry red colour. I have not found any photos of cicadas that look like this one.
