A very small black fly, long body, with long, narrow & transparent wings, marked with what appear to be 2 black bands, running from side to side (photo 2). A thin band is about midway along, with a much thicker band behind it, closer to the tail end. The wings have rounded ends which appear to be an opaque, or only slightly translucent, white. The black bands appear to be opaque, (photo 1). There appears to be some coloured sheen to the wings (all photos). The head is joined to the body with a very narrow ‘neck’ (photos 1 & 2). The legs are long and thin and there appears to be some whitish colouring to the upper part of the middle legs (photos 1 & 3).
