User's notes

They were fishing in the current. Swimming in tight circles, sometime upside down, the technique seemed to be to make the fish jump out of the water and then catch. A local said this is a daily occurrence at sundown. Wish I’d better captured the acrobatics.

Why do you suggest Tursiops truncatus?

Hi Michael, many thanks for the moderation. Past news refers to the phenomenon of the bottlenose dolphins fishing for mullet at this area, and at the time I wasn’t sure about how to specify at the genus level.

Thanks Clare

When I think about it, I could tell when they were upside down because their underside was very pale. I imagine that’s a common trait so not helpful for ID’ing.
