User's notes
I have been told this tree is a Forest Redgum. It has a smooth grey bark which peels off in strips (photo 4), revealing a sometimes light brown under layer (photo 5, slender strip on trunk at top of photo). The bottom part of the trunk has a distinctly rougher bark than the rest of the tree (photo5). Photos 1 & 2 combine to show the entire tree, which carries on from year to year even though it looks for all the world like it is dying. Photo 3 shows the fresh green shoots coming out to prove it can go another year! I believe this to be the same species as at sighting 4662185, which is growing about 15 metres away.
