As with sighting 4662183 (photo 1), I have been told this is a Forest Redgum. It has a smooth grey bark which peels off in strips (photos 3 & 4). The bottom part of the trunk has a distinctly rougher bark than the rest of the tree (photo 4). Photos 1 shows the entire tree, which carries on from year to year even though it looks for all the world like it is dying, although it looks as if it is faring better than sighting 4662183’s specimen. (It does get more shade and better access to water being nearer an occasionally inundated gully. The shoots on this specimen (photo 5) look to be well advanced compared with its mate at sighting 4662183.
